Art and Touch

Art and Touch is a business that caters to the vice industry of tattoo artists here in the Bay Area. I have found that tattoo artists are not always aware of the stress they’re bodies endure when performing a tattoo. The focus is on how to perform for long periods of time with minimal strain on the body. One of the ways to release stress is through massage. My specific detail to clients needs makes for a warm and loving experience. The beauty in Art and Touch is the fact that massage tables are already at each location! Making for an easy and welcoming experience.

Our Services and Rates
Art and Touch schedules to meet your needs-whether a single session, long term program or shop massage.

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is a relaxing and therapeutic form of full body work. A combination of kneading, percussion and effleurage all help with circulation. Our technique involves working with the breath to enhance the session. By working with the natural breath, the massage therapist is able to fully target and penetrate the problem areas.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method of releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and lingering injuries. Our technique involves using the body as a weight for pressure in problem areas such as shoulders, low back, etc. With proper body mechanics, we are able to further penetrate problem areas for maximum relief. Because of the nature of deep tissue massage, it is important to have open communication regarding pressure and clients comfort levels. Keep in mind that soreness is common after the treatment. Lots of water should be ingested to aid with flushing and removal of toxins that will have released during the deep tissue massage.

Shiatsu Massage

Shiatsu Massage is a Japanese form of massage. The word Shiatsu comes from two Japanese words – “shi” (finger) and “atsu” (pressure). In addition to the direct stimulation of pressure points along the energy pathways of your body, gentle stretching techniques are applied over a wider area of the body to integrate the point work and encourage the flow of Qi (energy) throughout the body. Shiatsu can also be a form of meditative healing. Honoring the body, mind and spirit.

Myofascial Release Therapy

Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. Our one-on-one therapy sessions are hands-on treatments during which our therapists use a multitude of myofascial release techniques and movement therapy. Applying myofascial release allows us to pinpoint target areas for each unique individual. In my experience, this form of massage is particularly great for tattoo artists; because of repetitive motions and the body being in a prolonged and stationary position. Having to stretch the skin and hold a vibrating tattoo gun causes great stress for the forearms and shoulder.
